Ecuadorian White Shrimp: The Chinese market continues to be strong, and it is expected to arrive at 2930 cabinets in August
July exports fell slightly month-on-month, but increased significantly year-on-year
Statistics show that Ecuador exported a total of 116,700 tons of white shrimp to the world in July, compared with 115,700 tons in June, achieving a month-on-month growth of 0.86%, reflecting the continued demand and supply stability of Ecuadorian white shrimp in the international market. Even more remarkable is that compared with the same period last year, the export volume increased by 10.33%.
China accounts for more than half of the market, showing resilience in exports to China
Among many export destinations, the Chinese market is undoubtedly an important consumer of Ecuadorian white shrimp. In July, about 52.72% of Ecuadorian white shrimp was sent to China, with exports reaching 61,500 tons. Although the figure was down 5.93 percent from June's 65,400 tons, it was up 11.8 percent from July last year. This data shows that despite seasonal fluctuations or changes in the international market, Ecuadorian white shrimp still maintains high competitiveness and consumer recognition in the Chinese market.
Frozen white shrimp continues to arrive in China, and supply chain stability is recognized
Based on a rough estimate of 21 tons per container, approximately 2930 containers of Ecuadorian frozen white shrimp will arrive in the Chinese market throughout August. This large number of import batches reflects its stable supply chain relationship with the Chinese market. Against the background of increasing Chinese consumers 'requirements for seafood quality and safety, the continuous supply of Ecuadorian white shrimp is undoubtedly a strong proof of its quality and supply chain stability.
Export data for the whole year declined slightly, and future challenges and opportunities coexist.
Zooming in to the first seven months of 2024, Ecuador's total exports of white shrimp to China were 435,400 tons, down 7% from 468,200 tons in the same period last year, but this does not mean that Ecuador's white shrimp performance in the Chinese market is sluggish. In fact, this data may be affected by a variety of factors, including changes in the global trade environment, fluctuations in market demand and adjustments in epidemic prevention and control measures at home and abroad.
