Honduran white shrimp is popular in China market, but Taiwan market encounters cold winter

It is reported that this batch of white shrimp produced in southern Honduras, after careful selection and strict quality control, through container transportation smoothly arrived in China.Honduras said this was one of their positive efforts to open up the international market, while the China market was one of their important goals.Reina expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation and stressed that it is another embodiment of the mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Hong Kong.He even personally bought white shrimp to express his support for trade cooperation between the two countries.

In the China market, Honduran white shrimp has won wide acclaim from consumers for its fresh, sweet and chewy characteristics.Many buyers say the white shrimp not only tastes great, but is also affordable and ideal for home cooking and catering purchases.Such feedback undoubtedly laid a solid foundation for the further promotion of Honduran white shrimp in the China market.

However, Honduras has suffered a major setback in the Taiwan market compared with the enthusiastic response in the China market.Since Honduras severed diplomatic relations with Taiwan and established diplomatic relations with China in March last year, they had expected to successfully penetrate China's huge white shrimp market, but the actual situation fell far short of expectations.The figures show that Honduran white shrimp exports have fallen for 12 consecutive months, especially in September, when exports fell sharply by 2.97 million 133 pounds compared with the same period last year.

The Honduran Aquaculture Association expressed concern, noting that the "avalanche" trend is expected to continue for some time.From January to September 2023 to September 2024, total exports of Honduran white shrimp decreased by 15.337254 pounds, of which exports to Taiwan decreased by 13.7 million pounds and exports to Mexico decreased by 5 million pounds.Although exports to the EU increased, the increase was not sufficient to compensate for losses in other markets.
